Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls and an Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Kampala. After a short briefing from your professional driver guide, you set off northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. Upon arrival, you head straight to the top of the falls. Here, the mighty River Nile forces itself through a narrow 7-metre gorge before plunging 43 metres down with a deafening roar. After the visit to the top of the falls, you will head to a lodge within the park, and you check in. You will be served lunch at the lodge

After lunch at your lodge, you will prepare for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile. This 2- to 3-hour cruise takes you towards the base of the falls. Along the riverbanks, you will spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants cooling off along the shore, and buffaloes grazing peacefully while waterbucks and Uganda kobs roam nearby. Bird lovers will sight African fish eagles, kingfishers and the rare shoebill stork, among others. After the cruise, you will transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala

You will rise early just before sunrise when the savannah is still cool and wildlife is most active. After breakfast, you will head out for your morning game drive on the northern bank of the park. This area is famous for its open plains and high concentration of wildlife. You may encounter Rothschild giraffes, large herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, warthogs and many more. The game drive lasts for about 3 to 4 hours, allowing you to explore different tracks and maximise wildlife sightings. Afterwards, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, and then you will check out.

In the late morning, you will begin your journey back to Kampala. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. You will arrive in the evening and check into a hotel, bringing an end to the 2 days Murchison Falls Express.
