The 8 days Uganda wildlife tour will take you to savannah national parks in Uganda, which are Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will be able to view the big five mammals, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos and other animals like giraffes, bushbucks, elands, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetahs, impalas, zebras, oribis, topis, hippos, and Nile crocodiles, among others, during the game drives and boat cruise.
Highlights of the tour
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Gulu via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Gulu via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Depending on your location, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or Entebbe airport, brief you about this Uganda safari and then start the journey to Gulu. On the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongolo for rhino tracking and later continue with another stopover for en-route lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to Gulu, and upon arrival, you will check into the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for lunch and later go for an afternoon game drive in the park, where you will be able to spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, klipspringer, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, elands, and impalas, among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and Karamajong cultural tour
Your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge after breakfast to transfer to the park for a morning game drive, where you will look out for predators like leopards, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, and jackals and other animals like aardwolves, caracals, elands, oribis, bushbucks, waterbucks, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and zebras, among others. Later, drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an exciting Karamojong cultural tour where you will be able to learn about their culture, way of living, and lifestyle; visit their homesteads; listen to their ancient stories; and enjoy their traditional performance, among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
You will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and enjoy beautiful views of the scenery, landscape, and farmlands, among others.
Upon arrival in Murchison Falls National Park, you will drive to the top of the falls, where you will view the waterfall, listen to the roar, take pictures, and do other things. From the top of the falls, you will drive to your lodge, check in and have dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
After an early breakfast, you will meet with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park, where you will view different animals like giraffes, Uganda kobs, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, leopards, waterbucks, and elephants, among others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for your interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, which starts at around 2:00 pm from Paraa Landing. During the boat cruise, you will be rewarded with views of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water; views of antelopes, buffaloes and elephants along the shores; and spots of aquatic birds like cormorants, bee-eaters and kingfishers, among others. Later, go for an evening game drive in the park, where you will look out for animals that you missed during the morning game drive.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge after breakfast to start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. You will have a stopover for en-route lunch on the way and enjoy views of the tea plantations, crater lakes, the Equator, and the Rwenzori peaks, among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Morning game drive and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel
After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you will be able to view lions, leopards, hyenas, and other animals like elephants, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, buffaloes, waterbucks, and warthogs, among others, grazing in the open savannah plains.
After the game drive, transfer back to the lodge for lunch, after which you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, which starts at around 2:00 pm. You will be able to view hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water during the cruise; bird species, buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs along the banks; and fishermen preparing for night fishing, among other things. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe
You will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short morning game drive in the park, where you will look out for animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive. Later, drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with lunch en route on the way. You will arrive in the evening, and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport or at your hotel, depending on your schedule. End of 8 days Uganda wildlife tour
