You will pass through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, where you will spend time with the rhinos. You will watch them feed, socialise and also engage in several activities. The guide while on a Uganda safari will inform you about the details of the rhinos, and after photographing the rhinos in their habitat, you will proceed to Murchison Falls with a stopover in Masindi town for lunch at a hotel.

In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Murchison Falls National Park and check into a lodge. You will have dinner in the evening at the lodge, and afterwards you will go to bed.

Day 2: Morning game drive and a boat cruise at the bottom of the falls

An early morning game drive after breakfast at the lodge and a briefing at the park headquarters is the best time for wildlife photography, as animals are most active and the light is soft. You will explore the open savannah plains in search of elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, antelopes and many more.

After returning to the lodge for lunch, you will head out for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This cruise offers excellent opportunities to photograph hippos, crocodiles, elephants and water birds along the Nile. The boat cruise will last 2 to 3 hours, after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk

After an early breakfast, drive about 1 hour to Budongo Forest for chimpanzee trekking. Following a briefing by forest guides, you will enter the forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee group. The trek can take 2 to 4 hours, depending on chimp movement. Along the way, your guide will help you spot other primates, birds and forest details perfect for close-up and wide-angle photography. Once the chimpanzees are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing them in their natural environment.

After the trek, you will go for lunch at the lodge. In the late afternoon, you will go for a nature walk in Rabongo forest, where you will have close encounters with wildlife. You will be back at the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit to the top of the falls and an Albert Delta launch cruise

After breakfast, you will drive about 30 to 40 minutes to the top of Murchison Falls. Here, you will walk along the viewpoint trails and photograph the Nile as it forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging into the pool below. The power, mist, and rainbows offer dramatic photographic opportunities. You will have views of the falls and then get back to the lodge.

After lunch, you will head out for the Albert Delta launch cruise. The cruise takes about 4 to 5 hours round-trip and moves slowly along the Nile toward Lake Albert. This area is excellent for bird photography, including shoebill storks, African skimmers, pelicans, and kingfishers. You may also see elephants, hippos and crocodiles along the banks. The guide will take you back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 5: Full-day game drive in Murchison Falls National Park

An early breakfast, and after, cross to the northern sector of the park for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. This area offers wide savannah plains and is home to large numbers of animals.

You will spend the morning tracking elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and many more. Early hours are perfect for soft light and active wildlife. Your guide will position the vehicle carefully to give you the best photographic angles. After a picnic lunch in a scenic spot, continue exploring different tracks in the afternoon. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and afterwards retire to bed.

Day 6: Depart for Kampala

An early-morning breakfast, followed by a checkout from the lodge. The guide will transfer you back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch at a hotel. You will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon and either be dropped off at a hotel or at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
