This 4 days Murchison Falls and chimpanzee trekking holiday will take you to Murchison Falls National Park, which is the largest national park in Uganda. During this Uganda safari, you will be able to engage in an adventurous chimpanzee trekking experience in Budongo Forest and spend time with the chimpanzees and also engage in an interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls and game drives where you will be able to view animals like giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, waterbucks, oribi, Nile crocodiles, and hyenas, among others.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Our driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport or your hotel, have a briefing about your safari, and then start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and then continue the journey with another stopover in Masindi Town for an en route lunch. Later, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, and upon arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy views of the waterfall and the beautiful scenery. From the top of the falls, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
You will have an early breakfast, then meet your driver-guide for a morning game drive in the park, where you can spot animals such as buffaloes, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, Uganda kobs, giraffes, lions, leopards, oribi, bushbucks, and waterbucks, among others. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for the interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, where you will be able to spot different bird species like kingfishers, fish eagles, and hornbills, among others; view hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water; and see buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks along the shores. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest
After an early breakfast on the third day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your lunchbox to transfer to Budongo Forest for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest with a park guide in search of the habituated chimpanzees, which takes about 2 to 5 hours depending on their location. During Uganda chimp trekking, you will be able to spot other primate species like red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, different bird species like the African emerald cuckoo, crown eagles, little green sunbirds, chestnut-capped flycatchers, mammals, tree species, and butterflies, among others. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them; learn about their behaviours, take photos, watch them feed, play, hunt, fight, breastfeed young ones, and record videos, among other things. After the encounter with the chimpanzees, you will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala
You will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver-guide to start the journey back to Kampala with an en route lunch on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop you off at your hotel in Entebbe, depending on your schedule.
