This 7 Days Uganda safari is an impressive Uganda adventure safari that takes you to the three most interesting destinations in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park (the primate capital), and lastly, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will encounter the endangered Uganda mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Detailed itinerary     

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Murchison Falls National Park

On the 1st day, depending on your location, our tour guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport and brief you about the safari before starting the journey to Murchison Falls National Park, which is the largest national park in Uganda.

On your way to Murchison Falls National Park, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, whereafter you will continue the journey with another stopover in Masindi town for lunch.

After taking lunch in Masindi. You will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you will have spectacular views of the park as you’re heading to the lodge to check in to relax as you’re preparing for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Wake up early in the morning; you will be served with breakfast, and after your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive experience with stunning views of landscapes and a variety of animals like giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, and Jackson’s hartebeest, among others. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch

After lunch, you will go for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, where you will be able to view animals like elephants, antelopes, and buffalo, which will be drinking water along the shores; view hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water; and view aquatic bird species. After the exciting boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

On the 3rd day of your tour, have breakfast at the lodge and check out of the lodge. After meeting up with your driver guide to start the journey to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda.

On your way to Kibale National Park, you will have an en route stopover for lunch and proceed with the journey. Upon arrival in Kibale Park, you will continue to check into the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and meet up with your safari guide, who will drive you to the Kanyanchu park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing.

After the briefing about the rules and regulations, you will be allocated an experienced park guide and start trekking in the forest in search of chimpanzees, which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located, since they move from one area to another in search of food.

During trekking, you will spot other primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys, as well as views of different bird species, among others. Once the chimpanzees are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment. After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will head out for an interesting swamp walk in Bigodi Sanctuary, where you will spot a variety of bird species and several primates, among others. After the guided nature walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On the 5th day of your safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide, who will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with stunning views on the way. Upon arrival at Bwindi National Park Safaris, you will check into the lodge, relax as you prepare dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early in the morning; you will be served, and you will also carry a packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide, who will drive you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing.

 After the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek with, plus a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with different gorilla trekking trails.

During trekking, you will spot other primate species, different bird species, and plants, among others, and once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat. After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala

This is the last day of your safari. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala.

On the way, you will have lunch en route in Mbarara town and then continue the journey with another stopover at the Equator, where you will take beautiful pictures and buy craft souvenirs.

After proceeding to Kampala, arriving early evening, upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience.
