Our 5 days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth safari is an exciting wildlife safari that will take you to Murchison Falls National Park, which is the largest national park in Uganda, and Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is the second largest national park. During this Uganda safari, you will be able to spot the big five mammals, including the rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, and other animals like Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, hippos, Nile crocodiles, hyenas, warthogs, and oribi, among others, during the game drives and boat cruise.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or Entebbe airport, brief you about the safari, and then start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will trek with the southern white rhinos on foot, and later proceed with another stopover in the Masindi District for lunch en route.

After lunch, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park, and upon arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy views of the most powerful waterfall, and later connect to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.

After an early breakfast, you will meet with your driver-guide to transfer to the park for a morning game drive, where you will be able to view animals like lions, leopards, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, oribi, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and hippos, among others.

After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch, after which you will go for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, where you will look out for hippos and Nile crocodiles and aquatic bird species, including herons, fish eagles, turacos, and cormorants, among others. After the boat cruise, you will either return to the lodge or go for an evening game drive, where you will look out for animals that you might have missed during the morning game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver-guide to start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s a whole-day journey, and on the way, you will have lunch en route and enjoy views of the scenery, the Rwenzori peaks, and crater lakes, among others. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

After an early breakfast at the lodge, your driver guide will pick you up to transfer to the park for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains or Mweya peninsula, where you will look out for predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards, and other animals like bushbucks, waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and hippos, among others.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later go for an interesting boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, a water channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat cruise, you will be able to spot large concentrations of hippos in the water, Nile crocodiles along the water banks, and buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes, among others, drinking water on the shores; you will also spot different bird species like fish eagles, vultures, hornbills, turacos, kingfishers, and bee-eaters, among others. After the boat ride, drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe

You will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver-guide to start the journey back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch en route on the way and another stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe. You will arrive in Kampala early evening, and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport or drop you off at any place of choice, hence bringing your 5 days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth safari to an end.
