Detailed itinerary of 20 days Uganda safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe

On your 1st day of 20 days Uganda safari, you will be welcomed by our representative, who will brief you about the 20 days Uganda safari and drive you to your hotel in Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Mabamba swamp

On your 2nd day, you will be transferred to Mamba Swamp, where you will be able to spot the different bird species, especially the Shoebill, which is the commonest bird in the swamp. This swamp has more than 300 bird species, which may include: African jacana, papyrus Gonolek, malachite, kingfisher, among others. After the birdwatching activity, you will drive back to the hotel or relax by the Victoria water as you enjoy the air of the lake.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls

On your 3rd day, you will meet your guide/ driver who will transfer you to Murchison falls national park, while on your way, you will have a stopover, in luwero market were you will buy some fruits and do refreshment then, continue to Masindi ton were you have your lunch from, you make opt to do Rhino tracking at Rhino sanctuary in Masindi and after proceed to Murchison falls national park arriving in the early evening and you can visit the top of the falls. Have a good experience and a moment of picture, then proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4:  Morning game drive and evening boat cruise

After your early breakfast, you will meet your guide again, who will take you through the morning game drive in the savanna grasslands. Animals spotted include: lions, elephants, giraffes, elands, warthogs, leopards, among others.

During the boat cruise, you will spot different animals, including hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, elands, impalas, warthogs, among others. Some bird species can be seen, which include: African kingfisher, bird skimmer, parrots, egrets, shoebill and many others. After you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On your 5th day, you will wake up to your breakfast. This journey takes about 6-7 hours from Murchison Falls National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way you will have stopover at Equator were you will have moment of pictures, funny then proceed to the park in the early evening with the option of evening game drive in the kasenyi plains were you will spot different animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, elands, warthogs, giraffes, amongst other, bird species can also be spotted like egrets, parrots, pelican and many others. After the game drive, you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and evening boat cruise

On your next day, you will wake up for breakfast, meet up with your guide, who will take you through the process of a game drive. During your game drive, you will be able to spot the mammals like elephants, buffalo, elands, warthogs, antelopes, lions, hyenas, and Uganda kob. After you return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation as you wait for the evening boat cruise.

After lunch, you will meet your driver, who will take you to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. During this activity, you will spot different mammals, like Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, impalas, elands, and different birds’ species can also be spotted since queen Elizabeth national park is well known off bird species about 600 birds which include; shoebill, egrets, pelican birds, parrots, kingfishers and martial eagle. After your game drive, you will return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Lion tracking/transfer to Kibale National Park

On your 7th day, you will wake up, on your breakfast, meet your guide to take you to Ishasha sector for lion tracking, which is about 2-3 hours hunting for them since they also normally leave the trees and move to deep areas of the park. After you check out of the park while view different mammals grazing in the savannah grasslands of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch, and you also opt to visit the Amabere Ngina Mwiru and the blue crater lakes in Fort Portal. After your lunch, you drive straight to Kibale National Park, check in at the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

On your 8th day, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park. After your breakfast, you will meet your guide to embark on your next destination, which is Kibale National Park, well known as the home habitat for chimpanzees and other primates which including various monkeys. You will have a stopover for lunch, and later in the afternoon, you will proceed to park for your booked lodges.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking

On your 9th day, you will wake up, meet your guide, who will drive you to the headquarters for chimpanzee tracking. During your briefing, you will be told about the rules and regulations and expectations of the chimpanzee tracking. You will be advised to carry some edible food since tracking normally takes some time in the forest. After spotting these mammals, you will be given more extra hour to be with them as you study their behaviours and take moments to capture pictures.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge in Kibale National Park and set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is about a 6-7 hour drive. On your way, you will be observing the banana, coffee and tea plantations as you head to the Kigezi region. You will have a stopover in Kabale town for evening tea, then en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while arriving at the gate in the late evening for dinner and overnight in the booked lodges.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking/ Batwa community visit

In the morning, after your breakfast, you will meet your guide to drop you at the headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking experience. During your briefing, you will be advised to have a water bottle, packed food and many others. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 5 people each the best guide who will help spot these primates. After spotting them, you will be given more extra hour to see them, take pictures with an unforgettable experience then en route back to the lodge.

Batwa community visit

In the afternoon, you will be guided by your guide through the Batwa visit community, where they will showcase their cultural experience with drama and storytelling, and do a community charity for the Batwa people who bring hospitality around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as a Park. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Bunyonyi

On your 12tth day, you will meet your guide after your breakfast who will transfer you to the lake bunyonyi which normally takes about 4-5 hour drive, on your way, you will have a stopover in kabale district for lunch then proceed to lake Bunyonyi for next activity, check in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Canoeing at Lake Bunyonyi/ transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

On your 13 days, you will wake up after breakfast, meet your guide for canoeing while sailing at the lake observing the 33 island on lake bunyonyi and bird species can also be spotted as another activity at the lake, these bird species include; pied kingfisher, white-backed duck, African jacana, and many others after you will return to the lodge for lunch, check out of the lodge and set off to lake mburo national park.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park/ boat cruise

On your 14th day, you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will see the beautiful scenic landscapes, continue with your journey and stop in Rwahi town to buy some fruit and relax as you continue with your trip. You will have another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch, and then continue to Lake Mburo.

After checking in for the lodge, you will be taken to the lake to do a boat cruise where you will be able to spot different mammals like crocodiles, lizards, hippos, elephants, antelopes, giraffes, and buffaloes, which always move to the lake shores for water. After you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 15: Morning game drive/ evening boat cruise

On your 16th day, you will meet your guide in the early mornings after your breakfast, start your morning game with spotting the elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, zebra and many others.

In the afternoon, you will meet your driver again for the evening boat ride, where you will spot different mammals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, elands, and horses, which gather at the lake shore for water in the afternoon. After you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Return to Kampala

On your 16th day, you will check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala, which takes about a 6-7 hour drive. While on your way, you will have to stop over the equator for a moment to take pictures, then proceed to Kampala city in the late evening, check into your hotel, have dinner and overnight

Day 17: Transfer to Sipi Falls/ community visit

On your 17th day, you will check out of the your hotel in Kampala, after your breakfast meet your driver, then start your journey to eastern Uganda, on your way, you will stop in mabira for relaxation and refreshment were you will luck to spot on different mammals like monkeys, baboon along the way, then you will continue to jinja city for lunch which well recognized as the adventurous city because of its beautiful tourist attractions. Then proceed to Mbale town in the late evening, check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.

Hiking to the Falls/Community visit

On the next day, you will wake up to your breakfast, the start hiking to the falls with its stunning waterfalls that give the most excitement to the tourists. Hiking to the falls takes about 1 hour to the falls, and there are three trails which lead to the three waterfalls, which offer breathtaking views and view the beautiful scenery and lush vegetation.

Coffee tours

After you’re hiking to the falls, you will have your packed food, then proceed to tour the coffee plantation in the slopes of the mountains, which is well known for its Arabica coffee, which is grown by the local community/ people in the eastern region. During your visit to coffee plantations, you will continue to support the community, and then you will drive back to your hotel in Mbale, have dinner and sleep.

Day 19: Transfer to Jinja- source of the Nile

On your 19th day, you will travel to Jinja city, well known for adventurous activities. On your way, you have a stopover for lunch and relaxation, then proceed to Jinja city, arriving in the afternoon, and continue to the source of the Nile for adventurous activities. You will do the Jumpee Uganda at the source of the Nile, which is well known to be the most exciting activity on the source of the Nile, water-tubing, water rafting and many others done at the source of the Nile.

Day 20: Transfer to Entebbe airport

On the last day of your 20 days Uganda safari, you will wake up for your leisure breakfast, meet your driver, and then start your journey back to Entebbe airport, you will have a stopover at the beautiful bridge, have a moment for pictures, then proceed to kamala with another stopover in mabira forest, for zip lining, spotting certain monkeys and baboons in the forest, after zip lining, you will drive straight to Entebbe airport for your next flight to your destination.
