This is an 8 days primates and Uganda wildlife safari that will enable you to explore 4 national parks of Uganda for wildlife viewing. You will visit Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda, where you will conduct a game drive and enjoy a boat cruise. You will then head to Kibale national park for a chimpanzee trek and then visit Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive and a boat cruise at Kazinga channel. You will conclude the Uganda safari by visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will undertake a gorilla trek before returning to Kampala.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 : Transfer to Murchison Falls national park

A representative guide from Chopper tours and travel will meet you at Entebbe airport and transfer you to Murchison Falls national park. You will have a stopover on your way for lunch and at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. You will then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, where you will check into a lodge and have dinner. Once you finish your dinner, you will retire to bed.

Day 2 : Morning game drive and a boat cruise

After breakfast on day 2, you will receive a briefing at the park headquarters. You will then go for the game drive, which lasts about 3 to 4 hours, accompanied by an armed ranger guide. You’ll spot animals like elephants, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, kobs, giraffes, waterbucks and many more. After the drive, you will head to the lodge for lunch.

You will head to the headquarters of the park for a briefing about a boat cruise after the lunch meal. The boat cruise will start at 2 p.m and it will take about 2 hours as you explore the top of the falls. You will spot animals like the hippos and crocodiles and several bird species. After the boat cruise, you will then be transferred back to the lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 : Transfer to Kibale national park

On day 3, you will have breakfast at the lodge in Murchison falls national park and then you will leave the lodge with your luggage. The guide will transfer you to Kibale national park where you will check into a lodge upon arrival. You will freshen up, have dinner and retire to bed

Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

On day 4 of the safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and you will then head for a briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing, you will then head out with the ranger guide for chimpanzee trekking. This trekking will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. After spotting the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour observing them and taking videos and pictures. You will then return to the lodge, eat lunch and check out.

You will then embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have dinner and spend the night in a lodge of your choice.

Day 5 : Morning game drive and a boat cruise

On day 5, you will have breakfast in the morning and then head for a briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing, you will go with the ranger guide for a morning game drive. You will spot animals like the leopards, lions, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, elephants, kobs and many more

After the game drive, the ranger will transfer you to the lodge where you will enjoy your lunch. After receiving a briefing, you will embark on an afternoon boat cruise as you are enjoying your Uganda safaris. The afternoon boat cruise at kazinga channel takes approximately 2 hours and it starts at 2pm. You will spot animals like hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species, as well as other animals taking water along this channel, like buffaloes, elephants, and many more. After completing the boat cruise, return to the lodge, where you can unwind until dinner arrives. After dinner, you will head to bed for your night’s rest.

Day 6 : Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On day 6, you will have breakfast at the lodge and you will check out of it afterwards. You will then go to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will eat and sleep at the lodge.

Day 7 : Gorilla trekking

On day 7 of the safari, you will have breakfast in the morning and you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing with the guide. You will be given a ranger guide to escort you for the gorilla trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes about 1 to 7 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you spot the gorillas, you will have just one hour to spend with them in their habitats.

When you are done observing the gorillas, the guide will then transfer you back to the lodge where you will have dinner and your night’s rest

Day 8 : Transfer back to Kampala

In the morning, you will have breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and afterward, you will check out of the lodge. You will then embark on your journey back to Kampala.
