Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Your safari adventure begins early in the morning with a warm welcome from a professional driver guide from Chopper Tour and Travel, who will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala. After a briefing about the trip, you will start the drive towards Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience.

After the rhino tracking, you will have lunch at a hotel in Masindi town before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival, you will check into a lodge and relax after the long drive. As evening falls, you will have dinner at the lodge before going to bed.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Nile Boat Cruise at the bottom of the Falls

After an early breakfast, you will head out for your first wildlife experience in Murchison Falls National Park. A briefing will be done at the park headquarters about the guidelines to abide by while on a game drive. The game drive will take place in the northern part of the park, which is known for having the largest concentration of wildlife. The morning game drive takes approximately 3 to 4 hours and offers you chances to see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, leopards and several antelope species, among others.

After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise on the River Nile at the bottom of Murchison Falls. The two-hour cruise offers views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and animals that come to the shores to drink water. After the boat cruise, head back to the lodge, and you will have dinner in the evening before retiring to bed.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest and a nature walk

After breakfast, you will leave the lodge and head to the park headquarters. On arrival, you will receive a briefing from the ranger guides before starting your Uganda chimpanzee trekking experience. The trek takes you through dense forest vegetation as you search for the chimpanzee. You will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours to spot the chimpanzees, depending on where the chimpanzees are located that day. Once they are found, you will spend one full hour observing them as they feed, play, and do much more. Taking photos is allowed, making it a memorable experience.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later in the day, you will have a guided nature walk in forested areas such as Kaniyo Pabidi or Rabongo Forest. You will spot wildlife at close range, for instance, the birds, primates and many more. You will get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Albert Delta launch cruise and return to Kampala

Your final day will start with an early morning breakfast at the lodge before heading out for the Albert Delta launch cruise. The cruise lasts about 2 hours, and it will expose you to a number of wildlife species, including birds and mammals like hippos, crocodiles, and many more.

After the cruise, you will return to the lodge to check out and begin the drive back to Kampala. Lunch will be taken along the way, and you will arrive in the city later in the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 4 Days Murchison Falls and Nile Boat Cruise.
