Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Visit the Top of the Falls
Your adventure begins early morning with departure from Kampala after being picked up from a hotel by our company’s professional driver guide. The journey to Murchison Falls takes approximately 5 to 6 hours for about 305 km. You will make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, completing the Big Five experience later in the park. Upon entering Murchison Falls National Park, you will check into a lodge and have lunch.
After lunch at your lodge, you will head to the Top of the Falls. Here, the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-metre gorge before plunging 43 metres below in a thunderous roar. You will take a short guided walk around the viewpoints, capturing photographs. Later, you will be transferred to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and a boat cruise to the Bottom of the Falls
The second day will begin early with a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park. The cool morning hours are perfect for spotting animals at their most active. You will have encounters with elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, oribis, among others. After about 3 to 4 hours of exploration, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. This 2- to 3-hour cruise is a photographer’s paradise. Along the riverbanks, you will see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes coming to drink water, and numerous bird species, including fish eagles and kingfishers, among others. You will afterwards return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Tracking and Return to Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Budongo Forest Reserve. Budongo is renowned for its population of habituated chimpanzees and rich biodiversity. After a briefing at the visitor centre, you will enter the forest with experienced rangers, and you will start Uganda chimpanzee tracking. This activity will take you about 2 to 4 hours of searching for the chimpanzees.
Once located, you will spend one hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will watch them groom each other, feed on fruits, swing between branches and much more. After tracking, you will return to the lodge for refreshment before beginning your journey back to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening, marking the end of the 3 days Murchison Falls and Budongo Forest safari.
