Day 1: Travel to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up from your agreed location in Kampala or upon arrival at the airport. Embark on a 5-to-6-hour drive from Kampala to the Fort Portal area. You will stop along the way to visit the historical Amabeere caves, named for their resemblance to breasts. Expecting to explore the scenic crater lake field surrounding Fort Portal.

Thereafter, continue to your booked accommodation in the park for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland in Kibale Forest

After a morning breakfast at the lodge, be driven to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, embark on a guided chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest, with a high chance to spend up to one hour watching the habituated chimpanzees.

After an encounter with chimps, drive back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. Later, you will take a nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birding and other primate viewing. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Optional activities and Departure

Wake up early and go engage in cycling at the Mpanga Tea Estate or visit the Nakayima tree after having breakfast at the lodge. After, you will transfer back to Kampala with a potential stop at the Karambi tombs. Arrive in Kampala by evening and be dropped at your hotel or at any place of your choice. End of the trip.
