The 5 days Murchison Falls wildlife and chimpanzee safari is an amazing Uganda safari adventure which gives you a chance to explore the national park through game drives and boat cruises where you will spot animal species such as waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos, Uganda kobs, hyenas and crocodiles, and bird species, among others. You will also encounter the chimpanzees in Budongo Forest, which is found in the southern sector of the park.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park
On arrival, the safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes 6 to 7 hours with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will participate in the rhino trekking with the endangered rhinos in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will proceed with the journey to Masindi for lunch. On arrival, you will check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive And Afternoon Boat Cruise
In the morning after breakfast, you will head into the park for a morning game drive where you will spot animals such as waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes and Uganda kobs grazing in the savannah plains, predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas, as well as bird species. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for a boat cruise at the bottom of the falls, which starts at the Paraa Jetty landing site and takes 2 to 3 hours. While on the boat cruise, you will spot hippos and crocodiles in the water and animals such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and warthogs along the water banks, as well as bird species such as cormorants, kingfishers and fish eagles, among others. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Nile Delta Boat Cruise And Evening Game Drive
In the morning, you will have breakfast and head to the Nile Delta for a boat cruise, which takes 4 to 5 hours as you spot animals and amazing scenery, as well as water birds such as the African jacana, pied kingfisher, and goliath heron, among others. After the Nile delta boat ride, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive within the park, where you will spot animals that you might have missed in the previous game drive as you take photos. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer To Budongo Forest For Chimpanzee Trekking
After morning breakfast, you will head into Budongo Forest with your packed lunch for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzees, which takes 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on their location. On finding the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them carry out their day-to-day activities, and you will record moments as well as take photos. After the chimpanzee trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer Back To Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala with lunch en route. On arrival, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home or any other place of your choice.
