The 4 days Queen Elizabeth birding safari will take you for a bird watching experience in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will engage in bird watching in several parts of the park, for example, the Ishasha sector, Katwe area and the Mweya peninsula. You will spot different bird species in all those sectors. You will also have a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains and an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Queen Elizabeth National Park shelters a variety of bird species there it is one of the best birdwatching destinations in Uganda.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 2: Morning game drive at Kasenyi plains and bird watching in the Ishasha sector

Detailed itinerary for the 4 days Queen Elizabeth birding safari

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On the first day of the Uganda safari, you will be transferred from Entebbe Airport by our company representative guide, and you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a stopover at Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves for a tour and an enroute lunch in Fort Portal town. You will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 2: Morning game drive at Kasenyi plains and bird watching in the Ishasha sector

On the second day of the safari, you will have breakfast and then go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You will conduct the morning game drive for approximately 4 hours. You will spot animals like lions, leopards, elephants, bushbucks, buffaloes and many more. You will return to the lodge for lunch after the game drive.

You will have a bird watching experience in the afternoon at the Ishasha sector, where you will spot birds like palm nut vulture, shoe bill, martial eagle, Ross’s turaco, double-toothed barbet and many more. You will leave the Ishasha sector and return to the lodge after bird watching. You will have dinner and then retire to bed.

Day 3: Bird watching in Mweya peninsula and an afternoon boat cruise

On the third day of the safari, after an early morning breakfast, you will be taken for bird watching in the Mweya peninsula. While at the Mweya peninsular, you will spot birds like the swamp flycatcher, pygmy kingfisher, Nubian woodpecker, swifts, blue-naped mousebird and many more. You will be transferred to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise will reward you with sights of hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species. You will spend 2 to 3 hours on the boat cruise. You will then be transferred to the lodge for dinner and your night’s stay.

Day 4: Bird watching in the Katwe area and depart for Entebbe airport.

On the last day of the safari, after an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Katwe area for bird watching. While bird watching at the Katwe area, you will spot birds like the African moustached warbler, croaking cisticola, common green shark and many more. You will then return to the lodge after the bird-watching experience. You will first have lunch and then check out of the lodge. You will be transferred back to Entebbe Airport
